Chaplain Samuel and Margaret Houchins

I am a native of Wilmington, Delaware, just a few miles from the Elkton chapels.  For most of my life though I have lived other places. I worked for a major international corporation for 24 years doing work which involved moving to a new location every two to three years.  After retiring from that work the Lord put me into full time ministry in Front Royal, VA where I met and married Margaret, a Virginia girl.  Following that, Margaret and I moved to Delaware and spent five years caring for our parents as each one, in turn, became ill and then passed away.

When that was over we began to seek the Lord, praying for another full time ministry opportunity that we could serve in together.  God led us to the TFC chapels in Elkton, MD.  I attended the June 2, 2001 prayer breakfast while Margaret was attending a grandson’s birthday party in Virginia.  When Margaret returned we met with Lead Chaplain Charles Geesey and on June 16, 2001 we began serving as volunteers.  In March, 2002 I was accepted as a staff chaplain and went full time December 1, 2002.  July 15, 2006 I was ordained as a minister.  Click Next below for more information.
