Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in
prayer.

Greetings To Our Partners
You
just never know what the next day will bring! We got up Friday morning,
May 23, expecting a routine day on the chapel.
Cerwin High, TFC Director of Chapel Construction,
and his friend Glenn were on hand to service the two
Life-Saver Chapel air conditioners for the summer.
Margaret was out doing errands and I was in the chapel living quarters
while
Cerwin and Glenn were working on the air conditioner near the chapel
front door. While watching them, I stepped out of the living quarters
into the chapel, forgetting
that there were two steps to go down from one to the other.
Oops—bad oops!

| My knee at the ER |
At the
hospital emergency room they determined that I had severely damaged my
quadriceps tendon of my right knee.
The following Wednesday I had surgery to repair the damage.
As I write this newsletter, I have completed five weeks of waiting
for the knee to heal and will soon begin physical therapy.
The surgeon said it could be as much as twelve months before I
recover full motion and strength in the knee.
I wore
a knee immobilizer brace during the healing period.
I can now put weight on the damaged knee without pain and get
around pretty good on a walker. It just doesn’t bend very much or
without a lot of pain right now.
We are praying that I will be able to return to the chapel at
least part-time before the end of July.
Unfortunately, the
Life-Saver Chapel has been closed more than open since my
fall. The Sunday services are covered, but during the week the chapel is
now only open all day Tuesday plus Thursday evening with an occasional
Wednesday evening.
