Chaplain David WeaverDavid Weaver’s first contact with Transport For Christ was at a Bucks-Montgomery Chapter Banquet in the early ‘80s. After that he began attending the chapter’s monthly prayer breakfast and enjoyed hearing what was happening in the ministry. After moving to Arizona in October 1985, he believes the Lord drew him back to Pennsylvania to become more involved with Transport For Christ. He got involved in the routine of the day-to-day workplace, but by 1999 was seeking a ministry where he could serve the Lord full time. David had a few days off just before Christmas that year, and went to the Petro Stopping Center, Elkton, MD, to see what happens on a chapel. He told the chaplain of his interest in serving on a chapel, was given a preliminary questionnaire, and began to volunteer a short time later. David enjoyed one-on-one sharing with drivers and the opportunity to encourage them in their walk with the Lord. Before long God impressed on him that this was where He wanted him. On February 1, 2003 David was accepted as a candidate for chaplaincy and is now raising prayer and financial support to become a full time chaplain. |
